BUENOS AIRES LIVING GUIDE

We’ve rated every city we’ve lived in over the last few years and created a rating scale based on these 5 factors. It's just my opinion, but I hope you find it helpful in evaluating where to go for your next long-stay trip!

● Food
Since the exchange rate was so favorable, we ate out every meal so we got to try a lot of places. The cuisine is heavily focused on meats and empanadas, so unfortunately not a lot of fresh veggies. But there were plenty of great restaurant options, and the steaks were definitely a treat.

● Work-life
There was good Wifi at the Weworks but the co-working spaces weren’t located in the parts of town we wish we stayed. If we were to do it again, we would have maybe worked out of apartment and stayed in Palermo or Recoleta.

● Cultural Feel
General bucket for all the fun travel stuff like museums, shopping, sightseeing and interaction with the locals. For as big of a city as BA is, I was honestly expecting more to explore but balanced the score out because the locals were so kind and especially patient with me practicing my Spanish.

● Cost of Living
Thanks to the blue dollar rate, everything you paid for in pesos cost about a quarter of what we’re used to in the US so this was a major perk of our trip.

● Overall Livability
BA is supposed to be the Paris of the south, but it’s really more like NYC. It’s a giant city which means a lot to offer but also hard to get around as a tourist without taxis, the streets aren’t clean and it’s important to stay in the right area.

⭐️ 3.4 out of 5 stars
